Tom here, Swipe’s editor. I hate conventional ads – they wreck the experience, exploit attention, and track people without asking. But running a site isn’t free, so we keep a few limited paid slots.
The Swipe Manifesto
On advertising: No ad networks, no tracking, no cookies, no dark patterns, no hidden pixels. You’ll never need an ad-blocker here. Any paid content will be relevant to readers, unintrusive, clearly marked, and capped at two placements across the entire site. No shady backlink deals, no crypto/gambling/weight-loss sponsors. We abide by Coalition for Better Ads standards.
On emails: Mailing list subscribers will get no more than one email each week, and no spam. I hope it goes without saying that we will never share your email address with a third party.
On editorial bias: Swipe is written for love of the game. Reviews always cover both pros and cons, and are never paid for – even when we’re gifted a promo code or product. Honest reporting is king. We do sometimes run guest posts if the content’s a good fit, and those can carry a slight bias from the writer – but they’re heavily vetted first.

Paid Promo
Swipe provides a small-scale sponsorship model made for indie creators, not big ad budgets. Skip the big evil ad networks and wasted impressions that go nowhere – Swipe puts you in front of an iPhone-owning audience already reading about apps. For an app campaign, that’s about the warmest lead you can get.
This is a new offering, so we’re offering steep discounts to small creators willing to take a leap and try a better way to reach users. Prices will increase in 2027.
- Indie 100 – paid placement in our top apps listing – $25/week
- Site Sponsor – an exclusive site-wide banner placement that bypasses ad blockers – $50/week
